Whom
do we serve?
Open Doors
is there for children and youth, 0-18 (and their families) who are having
difficulties in their lives. The counsellors at Open Doors work with children,
youth and families to try and solve problems early on, before they become
more serious.
Open Doors
believes in treating people with respect and dignity regardless of race,
religion, culture or sexual orientation. We also believe in working in
partnership with children, youth and their families. All of our services
are free and confidential.
Some children have
difficulty with behavior, getting along with others, self esteem or
emotions. Some need help to sort out challenges such as depression,
withdrawal, loss, anxiety, violence, sexual abuse or parent child conflict.
Who Are We?
We
are a non-profit organization funded by the Ministry of Community, Family
& Children's Services to provide help to children and youth up until
their 18th birthday. We have offices in Smiths Falls, Carleton Place,
Perth and the North Lanark County Community Health Centre.
Our Staff are Child and Youth Counsellors, Registered Social Workers
and Counsellors with specialized training in working with children and
youth. We also have an Early Education Counsellor and Psychological
Associate staff.
