Peer To Peer Support Group

The Peer to Peer Support Group is a drop-in style group where youth can join anytime…there is no need to register or commit. It brings together youth who are interested in connecting with their peers to talk about mental health in a supportive but non-therapeutic environment. Peers meet to share knowledge, experiences, and emotional, social or practical help to each other, with the support of facilitators. Safety, inclusivity and a non-judgmental environment are key components to the group. Social events and community outings can also be organized for the purposes of having fun and engaging with other peers and the community.

Activities Can Include: Group discussions, icebreaker games, fun outings/activities

Age: 13-18 (with some flexibility)

When: Every 2nd Wednesday from 4-6pm

Location: Carleton Place Office, 130 Lansdowne Avenue

How to Get Involved?

This is a drop-in style group so you can come regularly or occasionally; whatever suits your needs. Youth and caregivers can ask their individual counsellors or contact Open Doors directly to be provided with more information if they would like to attend group…or just drop in on Wednesday at 4pm.
